It still annoys me to this day
17 years ago U2 released the song One (yup, 1992… I know, we old) and I remember being quite fond of it at the time. One day my friend Paul heard me singing it and laughed:
Paul: You’ve got the words wrong there, it’s not “Have you come here to play Jesus, to the lepers in your head” It’s: “Have you come here to play teasers, to the lepers in your head”
Me: What? No it’s not, that makes no sense.
Paul: It is! What are you stupid? You can clearly hear it!
Me: What? Man all you have to do is listen to what you’re saying, that line makes no sense!
Paul: Yeah it does!
And on and on this went.
I’m pretty sure he knew he was wrong and was just too pig headed to admit it.
Anyway, I don’t speak to Paul any more.
