The number of registered new corona infections has risen by 655 cases in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania since Friday (as of Saturday 4:25 p.m.). That’s 377 more cases than a week ago. The number of deaths remained constant at 1,515 (+0).
According to the LAGuS, as of Friday, 2,852,761 vaccine doses have been administered in the northeast. Accordingly, 1,166,433 people were vaccinated at least once (vaccination rate 72.4 percent). 1,131,671 people are fully vaccinated (vaccination rate 70.3 percent). 620,161 people received a booster vaccination (vaccination rate 38.5 percent).
Hospitalization incidence is 9.2 – closings as of Monday
The incidence value of corona patients who were brought to a clinic for treatment within seven days per 100,000 inhabitants is 9.2 (-0.6). This means that the corona warning light is “red” nationwide for three days in a row. This means that from Monday the regulations of the “Red Plus” level will apply. Cultural and leisure facilities will be closed. In addition to museums, cinemas, exhibition halls, amusement arcades, circuses and theaters, this also includes the interior areas of animal parks or zoos. Non-professional sporting events are canceled, professional sport can only take place without an audience. Fitness studios can remain open (2G plus rule). So far, easing has applied in Schwerin and the districts of Northwest Mecklenburg and Ludwigslust-Parchim because these regions have less corona events than the other regions.
Because the Higher Administrative Court in Greifswald overturned the measurement of the ITS utilization as a secondary criterion on Friday and overruled the corresponding regulations, the ITS utilization is no longer taken into account in the LAGuS’s current Corona report. According to figures from the LAGuS and the Ministry of Health, 314 (-17) people across the country are currently being treated for Covid 19 in a hospital, of which 91 (+1) are in an intensive care unit, according to LAGuS. According to the intensive care registry (as of Saturday 3:15 p.m.), 52 (-2) patients are being ventilated invasively.
Hospitalization incidence highest in the Mecklenburg Lake District
The Mecklenburg Lake District has the highest incidence of hospitalization at 16.7. This is followed by the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald with 15.3, the district of Rostock with 8.8, Vorpommern-Rügen with 7.5 and the city of Schwerin with 7.3. The Hanseatic city of Rostock reports 5.7, the district of Ludwigslust-Parchim 5.2 and the district of Northwest Mecklenburg 1.9. The seven-day incidence of new infections is only a secondary criterion for determining the corona protective measures in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It rises to 413.3 (+24.2). The Mecklenburg Lake District has the highest incidence of new infections with 529.0, the Ludwigslust-Parchim district has the lowest with 319.6. The LAGuS no longer shows the incidence separated into vaccinated and unvaccinated persons, because data that are transmitted late would result in “incomplete presentations”. In addition, the LAGuS made further changes to the management report and the tier map.
140 new infections in Western Pomerania-Greifswald
The district of Western Pomerania-Greifswald reports the most newly infected people with 140, followed by the Mecklenburg Lake District (109), Western Pomerania-Rügen (99), Ludwigslust-Parchim (93), the district of Rostock (91), Northwest Mecklenburg (43), and the cities Rostock and Schwerin (40 each).
16 active infection events in old people’s homes
The LAGuS also publishes figures on the situation in schools and daycare centers as well as in old people’s homes during the week. Accordingly, there were 36 active infections at the schools in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania as of Friday (+19). 50 students (+18) and 7 teachers or employees (+5) are affected. In the daycare centers and after-school care centers, the LAGuS reported active infection events in 18 facilities (+ -8). 11 children (+2) and two employees (-10) are affected. The LAGuS reported 16 active infection events (+2) from the geriatric care facilities. 84 residents (+9) and 51 employees (+9) are affected.
Almost 40 percent of all North Germans were boosted by the end of 2021. The number of weekly first vaccinations more than doubled in mid-November, but has stagnated at a comparatively low level since then. The NDR shows every week how the speed of first, second and booster vaccinations is developing in the northern German federal states.
